RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE - KILLING IN THY NAME DOCUMENTARY
Rage Against the Machine tackle white supremacy and systematic racism in their new documentary with The Ummah Chroma (an international artists’ collective meaning ‘community of colour’. The documentary also refers to “the fiction known as whiteness.”
Rage Against the Machine are well-known for their political stance in the music scene. Their political activism and revolutionary views have always shown passionately through their songs.
With their song "Killing in the Name" playing throughout the documentary, it ends with a live performance of the iconic track. The band members also appear throughout to discuss why it is important to use their platform to bring their views to the forefront.
Based on true events, the documentary shows children being taught about the history of race, and questioning the conceptions and misconceptions. The footage is mixed with clips of historical events.
