SIRLUTE THE TEAM!
SEPTEMBER 2020 marks the time that Sirlute started to grow its team. Onboarding a Studio Manager, Digital Marketer and a Studio Trainee. This is just the beginning.
Our Studio Manager, Sillky, joined us in October 2020 and has already made a big impact! He is responsible for managing bookings and people that come to the studio. Sillky has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to music. Not only is he a fan of Old Skool Hip Hop, RnB and Rap, he is a skilled beat maker and producer. Using his 10 years producing experience and keen interest in the music industry Sillky is the perfect guy for the job. In addition, Sillky shares his skills by delivering the music production classes. During Half Term and thereafter at our After School Club he guides YoungStar through the process of making a beat to the finish product. Sillky is a vibrant soul and a positive energy to have in the Studio.
We asked Sillky what he loves about his job here at Sirlute and here’s what he had to say:
“It is a great opportunity to work in such an environment; a studio. I have the chance to develop my skills as a producer and meet people, make contacts and grow Sirlute’s client base. The best thing about the role is the independence. I get to make decisions and push campaigns to get our Pepper st. Studio booked out. The community feeling is great, I really feel whilst I am mentoring these children I am doing something positive for the community I grew up in”.
Amani has been with us since August 2020. He is another trainer to join Sirlute who was a previous student at our partner organisation ELAM college where we take on trainees to give them hand on experience. Amani has been excelling in his role. He is an aspiring music artist and has written and produced music of his own.
At Sirlute he has brought his engineering skills by recording and mixing beats for multiple artists who use Pepper st. Studio. He is dedicated and committed as this is a role he has always wanted; a practical role is a music studio.
Amani brings a young perspective to the team as the youngest member but also bringing a different music perspective which relates well with our clients.
We asked Amani what he loved about the job:
“I appreciate the relaxed nature of the management whilst we work hard I also love being in the Studio; I am always excited to go to work which not everybody gets to experience. My co workers are friendly and there is lots of opportunities for me to learn and apply my experiences to my own music. My favourite genres to listen to are the UK Urban scene, Afrobeats and Old School American Hip Hop, so I can bring a range of understanding to different clients when they come in with their music.
Sanaya joined Sirlute in September 2020 as Sirlute’s first full-time Digital Marketer. Sirlute is taking a dive in the right direction and with Sanaya’s help we have revamped the website and markeitng material including brochures and info packs. She has worked on the website, social media and keeping up to date with the articles on The King Magazine. Developing a marketing strategy, Sanaya has pushed Sirlute’s creative programs creating all the programme materials. She is a fantastic team leader and takes her role very seriously. Sanaya has come from a sales and business background. She has previously trained team members and headed up business development which is a great asset to have along with her role now in marketing. Sanaya moved to marketing because she has a creative flair and found it more dynamic and interesting. Sanaya is also a keen artist and will be using her skills to develop her marketing role further.
Thanks to those that have left us - Cashanna, Josh, Kyra and Aaliyah who have been with us in the past and have done a great job. Josh was the first of our trainees and joined us from January 2020 to July 2020. Josh was interested in learning about events when he first joined us. During his week work experience, Josh worked with JR on rebranding to relaunch The King events. After such an impressive week, Josh continued to work with Sirlute and assisted in social media posting. Josh is a talented musicians, playing drums and studying at ELAM college. Josh is now attending university in Leeds and studying music.
Cashanna joined us when we were introduced by Josh. Unable to travel to work because of the pandemic, Cash worked from home and worked with Kayleigh to deliver articles for The King magazine. As well as a talented writer Cash is an amazing musician and has been coming into the studio to claim her staff hours.
Our first ever studio assistant was Kyra, a singer/songwriting also from ELAM college. During Kyra’s summer job, she worked on creating content from social media as well as liaising with clients and running special offers.
Aaliyah trained with us for four months and assisted with researching new talent, posting to social media and designing marketing content. Aaliyah is now studying in Toronto, Canada.
All the Best to all of our past employees; they are also YoungStars in their own right!
