  • NIKKI GRAHAME: BIG BROTHER STAR DIES AT AGE 38

    After a long-term battle with anorexia, Big Brother star Nikki Grahame has passed away at the age of 38. A statement from her representative said: “Nikki Grahame passed away in the early hours of Friday 9th April 2021. Please respect the privacy of Nikki’s friends and family at this tragic and difficult time.” The reality TV star was known for her big personality on the seventh series of Big Brother in 2006. Hugely popular on the show, Grahame returned to the house in 2010 to take part in Ultimate Big Brother, the final series that was broafcasted on Channel 4. She released two books based on her experience of having anorexia nervosa – 2009’s Dying to Be Thin and Fragile, released in 2012.

  • RIP DMX: RAPPER DIES AT AGE 50

    The rap icon known as DMX passed away today in hospital after a recent overdose which led to a heart attack that left him in a vegetative state. The rapper was first admitted to hospital April 2. Music artists and fans across the globe are sharing their grief over social media as the world has lost a legend today. Artists such as Eve, Missy Elliot, Snoop Dogg, Foxy Brown, plus many more have shared their condolences and are paying tribute across the platforms. Today is certainly a sad day in the music world. DMX's family issued the following statement after his death: "We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days. Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl’s music inspired countless fans across the world and his iconic legacy will live on forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized." Born Earl Simmons in Mount Vernon, New York, DMX spent much of his early life in Yonkers, New York. He is most well known for His 1999 album 'And Then There Was X' and songs such as 'Party Up , 'What’s My Name' and Ruff Ryders' Anthem. DMX also became known in the world of hip hop following his 1998 album It’s Dark and Hell is Hot, an album that went multi-platinum. The rapper was part of the infamous Ruff Ryders and Def Jam records in his career. We at Sirlute send our heartfelt condolences to DMX's family and loved ones. Legends never truly die.
