SIRLUTE EVENTS IN EAST LONDON

It's the experience that counts.

Not every event is a fundraiser, and not every event is a showcase.

Some are just a great experience.

We run film screenings, sports screenings, music parties, showcases, open houses and community days.

Our Events

Some events put our YxngStars on a stage. You can teach a young person to produce, write and perform, but nothing replaces a room full of people who came to listen. For many of ours, it's the first time they've performed live or been introduced as an artist, the moment the work stops being a hobby. Everything gets tested at once: the music, the nerve, the professionalism, the recovery when something goes wrong.

Some events are simply somewhere to be. A screening, a match on the big screen, a party. Young people need places to go that aren't school, and East London has fewer of them every year. These nights are how young people who'd never sign up to a "programme" end up in the building, meet the team, and come back for something else.

Some events open us up to the community. Families, schools, referral partners, local businesses and industry professionals in the same room. A parent sees what their child has actually been doing on a Saturday. A youth worker sees why they should refer someone. Awareness isn't marketing for us; it's how the next fifty young people find us.

And some events raise the money that pays for all of it. Sirlute programmes are free at the point of access and always will be, which means someone else has to cover the cost. Ticket sales, bar takings and sponsorship go straight back into delivery, facilitators, studio time, equipment, and the twelve months of aftercare that follow every programme. It's what stops a rejected funding bid becoming a cancelled programme.

Different events, same objective: more young people in the room, with something to look forward to.
