Fashion
From concept to catwalk.

Fashion isn't just designing clothes, and you don't need to be able to draw to be good at it. On our free fashion programmes, including Fashion Fusion, run with UAL's London College of Fashion. You'll learn how the industry actually works and where you fit in it. That means understanding trends, and where they come from, building a digital portfolio you can show to a college or an employer, developing a marketing campaign, and producing a real fashion event from the ground up. Styling, design, production, PR, brand-building.
You'll try enough of it to find out what you're drawn to. You'll work to real deadlines with people from the industry looking at what you make, and you'll leave with a body of work rather than a certificate that sits in a drawer.

Designing
Learn to take an idea and turn it into a garment people can actually wear. Sketching, developing a concept, choosing fabric, and understanding why some pieces work and others just look good on a mood board. You'll build a digital portfolio as you go, the thing colleges and employers ask to see before they ask anything else. No, you don't need to be able to draw to start.
Pattern Cutting
This is the part that separates people who like fashion from people who work in it. You'll learn to draft a pattern from measurements, adapt a block, and cut and construct a garment properly; how a sleeve actually joins a body, why a seam sits where it does, and how to fix it when it doesn't. It's technical, it takes patience, and it's the most valuable skill on this page.
Styling
Styling is storytelling with clothes, putting a look together that says something, for a shoot, a show, an artist or a brand. You'll learn how to build and pitch a concept, source and pull pieces, direct a shoot, and work to a brief someone else set you. It's also one of the fastest routes into paid work in fashion, and one of the least understood.
