Tell the story your way.
Film, photography, journalism, design, content; multimedia is how you say something and get people to pay attention. On our free multimedia programmes, you'll get behind a camera and learn to shoot and edit properly: storyboarding, filming, sound, and post-production. You'll learn how to interview someone, write about culture in your own voice, take a photograph that means something, and design something people actually want to look at. A lot of this happens through It's A Mag Ting, our youth-led digital magazine, where young people take the real roles: editor, presenter, photographer, producer, and publish work to real deadlines. What comes out of it is a portfolio and a showreel. What also comes out of it is knowing you can be trusted with a job.
Multimedia
Film
Learn to make a film properly, from the idea to the final cut; storyboarding, framing a shot, lighting, recording sound that doesn't ruin the take, and editing it into something people watch to the end. You'll work with real cameras and industry editing software, on real deadlines, with filmmakers who do this for a living. You leave with a showreel, not a folder of clips.
Photography
Learn what your phone has been deciding for you; light, composition, exposure, and how to shoot a portrait that actually looks like the person. You'll work with proper cameras and learn to edit and colour-correct your images so they hold up printed, published or on a feed. Portraits, events, fashion, documentary: you'll try enough to find out what you're drawn to.
Graphic Design
Learn to make things people stop scrolling for; layout, type, colour, and why some designs feel right and others feel cheap. You'll design covers, posters, brand identities and layouts on industry-standard software, and learn to take a brief from someone else and deliver against it. It's the most in-demand skill on this page and the easiest one to get paid for early.
