Film, photography, journalism, design, content; multimedia is how you say something and get people to pay attention. On our free multimedia programmes, you'll get behind a camera and learn to shoot and edit properly: storyboarding, filming, sound, and post-production. You'll learn how to interview someone, write about culture in your own voice, take a photograph that means something, and design something people actually want to look at. A lot of this happens through It's A Mag Ting, our youth-led digital magazine, where young people take the real roles: editor, presenter, photographer, producer, and publish work to real deadlines. What comes out of it is a portfolio and a showreel. What also comes out of it is knowing you can be trusted with a job.

Become a YxngStar
A YxngStar is what we call a young person who's part of Sirlute, not a student on a course, but someone in the community for good. Sign up once and you get free access to our studios and equipment, a place on our programmes across music, fashion, multimedia and game design, and a mentor who knows your name and what you're working towards. You'll get a personal development plan tailored to you and at least 12 months of support after any programme ends, so you always know what's next.
Plenty of our YxngStars have gone from turning up to a first session to leading them; volunteers become young leaders, young leaders become paid staff. It costs nothing, and it doesn't expire.
