Art 4 Us: Where Art Meets Activism

Art has always been political. It has carried protest, preserved memory and given voice to people who were never handed a microphone. Art 4 Us is a community built on exactly that belief.

Founded and directed by Nikol, also known as Blewska, Art 4 Us brings together poets, rappers, singers, musicians, dancers, physical, digital and multimedia artists, filmmakers and performers who are passionate about activism against humanitarian atrocities. The idea is simple: a platform where artists can use their work to advocate for a free world for everyone.

Our mission

Art 4 Us exists to promote independent emerging artists and creators, and to support them in building their agency through community and connection. That happens at events and showcases where artists share a stage, share ideas and find each other.

Art 4 Congo

The first event, Art 4 Congo, took place at EartH in Dalston, Hackney in May 2025. It was a multi-disciplinary showcase of music, poetry, fine art and dance, and it did two things at once: it raised nearly £500 for the charity Focus Congo, and it shone a light on the dire, ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region.

Backing the next step

This August, Sirlute was proud to collaborate with Art 4 Us by donating our creative studio in Canning Town for a fundraiser Open Mic night. The money raised goes towards registering Art 4 Us as a Community Interest Company. That step means a bigger impact: connecting more creators, putting on more showcases and showing what grassroots activism through art can really do.

A YxngStar from day one

Nikol first joined us as a YxngStar at our C2C songwriting camp in 2024, and her commitment has stood out ever since.

"Nikol has always shown great commitment and dedication, not only to her craft but to her peers and community," says J.R Josephs of Sirlute. "As an artist she breaks the mould with her diversity and creative prowess. It's incredible to see her step into a community bag and fight for causes she cares deeply about. I'm looking forward to seeing where Art 4 Us goes in the future."
