THE STORY OF SIRLUTE THE YOUNGSTAR
Sirlute is providing support for young people where there seems to be an ever increasing void. With a host of creative programmes including, Music, Creative Writing, Film & Photography we are creating a safe network and opportunities for at-risk young people, up to 25 years of age.
Our structured workshops, artist development, and work experience programmes have been designed to minimise destructive behaviour in young people, reducing crime in the community.
WHAT'S ON FOR YOUNGSTARS
COMING UP FOR YOUNGSTARS
REBUILDING THE COMMUNITY
It’s time to help our young people,
TO BE THE BEST THEY CAN BE
Young people are at the heart of everything we do, Sirlute programmes have been co-designed by our beneficiaries, together with industry professionals and community leaders.
Consistent cuts to youth services have resulted in young people being further marginalised and overlooked. Our communities have been the birthplace to many of today’s music artists and creative pioneers.
We know that there’s a wealth of talent on our doorstep; Sirlute programmes ensure that young people have access to exceptional learning, support and guidance.
As they start to grow in confidence, they begin to believe in themselves and fulfil their potential, making positive contributions to their community as well as themselves.
There’s a substantial divide in Tower Hamlets, on one side sits the wealth and privilege of Canary Wharf, whilst just meters away there are families living hand-to-mouth, in a cycle of poverty.
Since Pepper st. Studio began in April 2019, Sirlute has successfully supported over 50 young people to engage with the music industry.
95% of Sirlute's services are FREE to young people who are
aged 18 or under.
Our Mission is to create opportunities that support the youth culture of today, providing a better future for all.
Our Values are at the centre of everything we do.
Sirlute is determined to create an inclusive, non-judgmental safe space that supports young people to be the best that they can be. Regardless of where they are from.
